Spirit Island.

Spirit Island is complex and thematic co-operative game. Player’s will take on the role of a different ancient spirit trying to protect their island home with their elemental powers and the occasional assistance of the native islanders.

The adversaries come in different guises which adds replayability and tinkers with the difficulty as you develop and gain the skill to fend of the Invaders. The game is constantly juxtaposed with the Invaders moving, building, attacking islanders and turning the lands to blight. While the spirits are seeking new potent powers by spreading their presence across the map. As Spirit Island escalates players can lose by a spirit dying, the island becoming overrun with blight or if the invader deck is depleted. Players will be victorious if they can destroy every last settlement and city on the board or scare the Invaders them from the land.

Editiorial reviews of Spirit Island

Overall it’s a fantastic game, a really epic experience especially when you first banish the invaders and win the game. It reminded me of my first game of Pandemic, it blew my mind and instantly made me want to play again and again and again. Hopefully Jess doesn’t get bored of me wanting to play it all the time. It is very highly thought of and I can totally see why. Highly recommended, but if light and simple games are your thing, stay well clear! - Read more at S vs J Board Games

I’m properly in love with Spirit Island. It’s so tight, everything works together perfectly. The way that everything is modular, from the board down to the difficulty. It’s pretty much the perfect Eurogame, if you like difficult puzzles and area control that is. - Read more at Punchboard
