The Castles of Burgundy 2020 Edition
As an influential 15th Century French prince you must do everything in your command to see your lands thrive. Many roads to success are open to you. Will you focus on city developments or academic progress, agriculture, mining or trading.
Castles of Burgundy is an ideal game for those looking for in-depth strategic challenges. With ten expansions included in the box this classic game offers heaps of replayability.
Whoever has the most points at the end of the five phases of the five rounds will win the game. At the start of a round each player rolls their two dice. There are four different actions you can take with each of your dice. You can take a six-sided tile from the main game board. You can move a tile that you’ve already claimed into your kingdom. You can recruit new workers and lastly you can choose to sell goods to earn silverlings and victory points.
Choose your path carefully to succeed in The Castles of Burgundy.
This 2020 Edition includes refreshed artwork, a double sided board, thicker board for tiles and also ten expansions.

Reviews of The Castles of Burgundy
I admired the cleverness of mitigating the luck of the dice. I enjoyed the battle of trying to gain first player and the tactical nature of picking and choosing which regions to take. Just generally the thinky, crunchy strategy that never tipped my brain over the edge but certainly got it working was a wonderful gaming experience. I got to play with my 11 year old son and wife and we all understood it and were competitive with each other. Those new to the hobby should definitely not start here, but when you are ready to take on a heavier game this has to be a contender for the perfect gateway to Euro games. - Read more at Board Game Review UK
This is a fantastic game full of decisions, different strategies and the right amount of “take that”. I will always enjoy playing it (despite the lack of variation in the game), and will never say no when someone suggests it at a game night. Brilliant game, highly recommended. - Read more at SvsJ Board Games
This is a phenomenal game that I would recommend to absolutely anyone. It doesn't look great on the table but the gameplay is fantastic.
