Tsuro Phoenix Rising

Tsuro Phoenix Rising has a beautiful night-time theme and introduces the phoenix who connected the stars. This incantation continues to challenge players to drive their opponents into each other or off the board, whilst simultaneously extending their own route in directions that make it difficult for opponents to do the same. The 6 x 6 grid board takes centre stage and players are dealt a hand of tiles (with two, twisting lines on it) and also place their marker on the grid. In turn order players place a tile from their hand onto the board and move their token as far as it can go along the line until it is stopped by an empty space. If the token reaches the edge of the board or collides with another player's token that player is out of the game. The aim of the game is to be the first player to create a constellation of seven new stars. 

The game shares a bond with the foundations of its predecessors: play tiles, move pawns, and stay in play, but it introduces a new board that allows for the double-sided tiles to flip and rotate throughout the game, creating diverging paths and opening up new strategies.
