Wingspan is a stunning engine building game from Stonemaier Games designed by Elizabeth Hargrave.

In Wingspan you are a bird enthusiast, which isn’t difficult to imagine when you see these beautiful cards and delightful components. Players compete over four rounds to collect birds, lay eggs and gain food. You will aim to attract the best birds to your wildlife preserve which includes habitats for grassland, wetland and forest loving birds. When performing an action in a particular habit many cards will offer you additional bonuses.

Wingspan: European Expansion is the first expansion to the multi-award winning game. In this expansion you will find 81 unique European bird cards and 15 purple miniature eggs, as well as all the other components you need to make this game compatible with the original Wingspan base game.

The European expansion doesn’t fundamentally change much from the base game so there aren’t many new rules to grapple with. In that sense it’s certainly a “more stuff” expansion. I like the addition of the end-of-round powers as they add another dimension to the game, but my favourite feature is the new end-of-round tiles as they really do mix up those bonuses. - Read more at S vs J Board Games
